Les Carroz

Les Carroz d'Araches is situated 1200 m altitude and a traditional alpine village with a chalet-style atmosphere in the heart of the Grand Massif ski & hiking area, and one of the closest accessible villages to the motorway when it comes to skiing in the French Alps. The Grand Massif ski area is one of the largest, and most scenic ski areas in the French Alps. It is among the Top 5 snow resorts in France. Wherever you go there are stunning views of the Mont Blanc mountain range.

The ski area consists of the 5 villages of Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoens, Sixt fer a Cheval and the high altitude resort of Flaine which are all linked (i.e. no need to walk from one ski area or mountain to another). There are about 265 km of pistes, 77 lifts, 133 slopes with 15 green, 53 blue, 51 red and 14 black along with some of the best off-piste skiing around at heights betw. 800 - 2600 metres. It provides extensive downhill & cross-country skiing for all levels. The gondola and chair lift go straight up to the Grand Massif from the village, in the winter as well as in the summer.

Les Carroz it is a ski-in / ski-out resort which means you can ski all the way down to the village throughout most of the winter season. Evening ski entertainment certain evenings every week.

There are many shops, bars and restaurants in the village, a spa and pool wellness centre, an ice rink, horse-riding facilities, a playground, a skate park, a cinema, many clothing and equipment shops.. There is a good selection of supermarkets, a post-office, a petrol station and banking facilities.

Childcare facilities in Les Carroz are excellent with a club Loupiots (kids 3-12 yrs) and a creche (Souris verte) for 0-3 yrs just 5 minutes walk away.

Less than an hour drive via the A40/E25 motorway from Geneva airport in Switzerland and 6 hours from Paris, it is one of the quickest and most accessible ski resorts in France.

Summer

In addition to winter activities, the Bergerie is ideally located for other activities in the summer: Hiking - Biking - Canyoning - Rafting - Horse riding - Fishing - Paragliding - Swimming - Tennis - skate park and adventure park.

From June to September, 15 minutes away, in Flaine, there is a golf course, one of the highest in Europe situated at 1900 m surrounded by breathtaking views.

Within an hour drive from Lake Annecy and its beautiful old town and Lake Leman in Geneva, both good places for sailing and water activities.

An hour from an excursion to Mont Blanc, the Aiguille du midi and Chamonix.
